제5의 파편
The Fifth Fragment

WRITING & DIRECTION

The twenty-first century, in which a great many living things — humankind among them — are losing the ground they live on. The human being who stands inside that vast current as both perpetrator and victim. And the stories tangled together in this air, in this space. On the cruelty of an ordinary space when it arrives as something other than ordinary. On the precious senses we have forgotten in daily life.

SYNOPSIS

The leopard leaves. The firefly leaves. And the human leaves. The manner differs; the reason is the same. Inside the vast current the struggles of small beings work upon one another, and all of them are walking their way toward the fifth fragment. This is a story from the fifth fragment, where every living thing has finished its sorrowful cycle and vanished.

SPACE AND STRUCTURE

The seating was removed from the black-box theatre and a cube was built at its centre. Video ran on each of the cube's four faces, and each screen could be raised and lowered on its own. When one screen went up, the inside of the cube was revealed. The audience had no fixed place. When the video played on a single face, people gathered there; when the story moved, they moved with it. To follow the stories of creatures who had lost their habitat and had to keep moving, the audience had to keep moving too. At the end, that movement was projected onto the cube. The people who had spent the evening following displaced creatures were shown themselves, moving.

작, 연출의도​​

인류를 포함한 많은 생명체들이삶의 터전을 잃고 있는 21세기. 이 거대한 흐름에 가해자임과 동시에 피해자로 존재하는 인간그리고 이 공기 속에, 이 공간 속에 얽히고 설켜있는 이야기들.일상적인 공간이 비일상적으로 다가올 때의 잔임함에 대하여. 

일상 속 잊고 있던 소중한 감각에 대하여

시놉시스​

표범도 반딧불이도 '사,람'도 '사~람'도, '사람'도 거대한 흐름 앞에 삶의 터전을 떠나간다. 방식은 달라도 이유는 같다. 거대한 흐름 속, 작은 존재들의 삶의 투쟁은 서로가 서로에게 유기적으로 작동하며 모두가 5번째 파편을 향한 발자취를 걷고 있다.​생명을 가진 모든 생물이 슬픈 순환을 마치고 사라져버린 제5의파편에서의 이야기.

공간과 구조

블랙박스 극장의 객석을 모두 걷어내고, 한가운데에 큐브형 구조물을 세웠다. 큐브의 네 면에 각각 영상이 송출되었고, 각 면의 스크린은 따로 오르내렸다. 스크린 하나가 올라가면 큐브의 안쪽이 드러났다. 관객에게는 정해진 자리가 없었다. 한쪽 면에서만 영상이 흐르면 사람들은 그쪽으로 몰려갔고, 이야기가 옮겨가면 다시 따라 움직였다. 삶의 터전을 잃고 계속 이동해야 했던 존재들의 이야기를 보기 위해, 관객 또한 공연 내내 자리를 옮겨야 했다. 마지막에 그 움직임이 큐브에 투사되었다. 이동하는 존재들을 보러 다니던 사람들이, 자신들이 그렇게 움직이는 모습을 마주했다.
